Nameserver redundancy and a live site: the sanity signals filters expect.

Questions

How the deliverability test works

What does this email deliverability test check?

It runs 20+ checks across four areas: authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), infrastructure (MX, reverse DNS, MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, DNSSEC, BIMI), reputation (domain and IP blacklists, Google Safe Browsing, VirusTotal, domain age), and hygiene (nameserver redundancy, live website, wildcard records). Everything runs against public DNS. No access to your mail server is needed.

How is the deliverability score calculated?

Each domain starts at 100 points. Authentication is worth 40, infrastructure 25, reputation 25, and hygiene 10. Critical problems like a missing DMARC policy or a blacklisted IP subtract points and can cap your grade. For example, no MX records is an automatic F, and an active blacklist caps you at D.

Why is my domain landing in spam even with SPF set up?

SPF alone isn't enough. Most spam filtering keys on DMARC being at enforcement (p=quarantine or p=reject), DKIM signing with a modern 2048-bit key, forward-confirmed reverse DNS on your sending IPs, and a clean reputation. The full report shows exactly which of these you're missing and the record to publish to fix it.

How do I fix a failing SPF, DKIM, or DMARC record?

The report gives you the exact record to publish for each failure, like a ready-to-paste DMARC value. In general: publish one SPF record ending in -all, enable DKIM with a 2048-bit key at your provider, and move DMARC from p=none to p=quarantine then p=reject once your reports look clean.
